I need help performing a regionalization reset on my HP OfficeJet Pro 7740.

Printer details:
- Model: HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One
- Product Number: G5J38A
- Serial Number: CN27S8503Q
- Current Firmware: EDWINXPP1N002.1849A.00
- Current Region: Latin America

Situation:
The printer is installed in Argentina and was configured to use HP 953 cartridges. However, HP 953 cartridges are not commercially available in our area. We purchased genuine HP 954 cartridges, but the printer displays the error: "Cartuchos incompatibles – Los cartuchos indicados no están destinados al uso en esta impresora" for all four CMYK cartridges.

What we have already tried:
- Factory reset – did not resolve the issue
- Firmware update – did not resolve the issue
- Firmware downgrade to version 1849A – successfully completed, but the regional lock persists

Current status:
- HP 954 cartridges (all 4: C, M, Y, K) are installed in the printer
- HP Smart app is installed on Windows
- Printer full-feature software is installed

I need a region change to use the HP 954 cartridges.

Could you please send me the reset instructions and/or the region unlock code via private message?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi @Sergio-Ipv

To complete this procedure, you must contact HP in the printer's country of origin and request regionalization for your new location.

Once completed, you will be able to print.

Best regards
