Hi Marcus

Thanks for your reply but I don't really expect HP to help seeing this is a problem they have created with a commercial decision to block the use of generic ink cartridges. [Content Removed] But anyway:-  Printer  HP PageWide Pro 447 dw Channel 6       Product no  D3Q20D         Desktop computer with Windows 10, 64bit  automatic updates    Connected by wireless .I have been using generic ink cartridges without problem. Printer had a recent automatic firmware upgrade and printing ok until i tried to replace black and yellow cartridges (generic).

Printer now says:-The indicated cartridges (Y & K) have been blocked by the printer firmware because they contain non HP chip etc>  I have turned off auto firmware updates and restored factory defaults but still can't get printer to accept these cartridges.

Thanks

Hi. Did you ever get this resolved?

I'm in the market for a new printer. I'm looking at HP printers, but if I can't use generic ink, I'm looking elsewhere. 😥
