HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer

I have 2 HP 9025E printers and 1 HP 8720 in our office. Each are in different rooms. I want to rename each printer in the instant ink so when an error message comes up, I will know which one it is instead of spending 30 minutes trying to sort through all the pages that take me no where. I know this can be done. I have had it happen on other printers but I cannot remember how I got to the point since HP loves to change the pages with every single update

Hi @EvergreenMemory,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Renaming your printers in HP Instant Ink can help you manage them more effectively. The process might vary slightly depending on updates or changes to the HP Instant Ink dashboard, but here’s a general guide on how to rename your printers:

Renaming Printers in HP Instant Ink

Log In to Your HP Instant Ink Account:

  • Open your web browser and go to the HP Instant Ink website.
  • Log in using your HP Instant Ink account credentials.

Access Your Printer List:

  • Once logged in, you should be on the dashboard where you can see an overview of your printer(s) and their status.

Select the Printer You Want to Rename:

  • Look for a section that lists your printers. You might find it under a tab like "Printers," "Devices," or similar.
  • Click on the printer you want to rename. This will usually open a detailed view or settings page for that specific printer.

Find the Rename Option:

  • Look for an option that allows you to edit or rename the printer. This could be labeled as “Edit,” “Rename,” or “Printer Settings.”
  • If you don’t see an immediate rename option, check under settings or advanced options for the printer.

Rename the Printer:

  • Enter a new name that helps you identify the printer’s location or purpose (e.g., "Office Printer 1," "Meeting Room Printer").
  • Save your changes.

Repeat for Other Printers:

  • Follow the same steps to rename each of your other printers.

Verify the Changes:

  • Once renamed, check the dashboard to ensure that the new names are correctly displayed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
