Product: Samsung Xpress SL-C480FW Color Laser Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there a way to set the printer Samsung C480FW to use only black toner? I have the settings for printing set to black, but my problem is that if the magenta, blue or yellow cartridge is empty then the printer will not function. I have changed the color cartridges and it is okay for a while then the machine will not work and tells me one or more of the color cartridges is empty. Is there any available firmware or update that will eliminate the need to have the color cartridges installed. What if I put Black toner in all of the cartridge slots.  I tried calling the Samsung help line from Hp, but I was connected to a rep that was of no help

Not possible, if you want to print only in black, you need to have all 4 working toners.
