I bought black HP 952XL for my Inkjet Pro 8600. When I try to change it, it will not snap into the Ink cartridge holder. I compared the new and old ink cartridge and they are a bit different in design. Looks like there is a small barrier in the back on the new one compared to the old one. Has the design changed? Can't I use this cartridge any more? I tried removing the "extra" piece. The cartridge now go further into the holder, but still don't snaps so it is locked. What can I do?

Hi,
An HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer uses HP 951 ink, HP 952 are intended for the Officejet 8700 printer series:
https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/ish_2405837-1980674-16
If you may confuse the printer model, please clarify its model, if it is 8600 indeed it does not use or intended to use HP 952 ink cartridges.
Please open the cartridge access door and confirm what ink number is listed on the label there.
