Hi @JanH11,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When the first page of a print job on your HP printer prints in "double vision" (where text or images appear blurry or duplicated), the issue could be related to alignment, paper feeding, or printhead problems. Here's how you can troubleshoot it.

Check Print Alignment:

  • Many HP printers allow you to align the printhead or cartridges via the printer's settings or software.
  • You can do this by:
    • Using the HP Smart app (if available for your printer model).
    • Accessing the printer control panel directly (navigate to Settings > Tools > Align Printer).
    • On a Windows or Mac device, go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and choose Printer Properties. Look for an alignment option under the Maintenance or Tools tab.

Clean the Printhead/Cartridges:

  • The problem may stem from clogged or misaligned nozzles. You can try running the clean printhead option:
    • Use the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
    • Perform a deep clean if the initial clean doesn’t resolve the issue.

Paper Handling:

  • Make sure you're using the correct type and size of paper for the print job.
  • Remove and reload the paper to ensure it's properly aligned in the tray. Misaligned paper can cause printing problems.

Update Printer Firmware/Software:

  • Outdated printer drivers or firmware can lead to print quality issues. Ensure that your printer software and firmware are up to date by visiting HP's support website.

Try Different Print Settings:

  • Adjust the print quality in your printer settings:
    • On Windows: Go to Printer Properties > Preferences and select a higher print quality.
    • On Mac: In the print dialog, look for options to change the quality settings before printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
