I had been having a print quality issue, for which a support ticket was raised in November 2024 and multiple escalations, the ticket remains open with no solution provided for more than 3 months, but lately trying to provide a replacement unit which I fear I will have to go through the same pain if something goes wrong.

November is a while ago -- I am sorry for the delay and inconvenience.
We, that is, the HP Community, do not have any authority to side-step HP Support decisions.
Regardless, unless or until what you fear actually happens, there is not a solution on how to handle fearing the worst.
