Printer has been working fine for several months since I loaded non-HP compatible cartridges. I wasn't concerned abpout the HP disclaimer about faults caused by non-HP cartrdiges would not be covered by warranty, as the printer was already out of warranty. . Printed OK this morning, but later this afternoon it won't print at all and now displays the message 'Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip. More at www.hp.com/learn/ds'.
The linked page confirms that ' Updates can improve, enhance, or extend the printer’s functionality and features, protect against security threats, and serve other purposes, but these updates can also block cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP circuitry from working in the printer, including cartridges that work today.'
I had automatic firmware updates enabled (foolishly now it would appear). The firmware datecode is 20211109 which I presume corresponds to 9 Nov 2021 so why has it just stopped working now?
Is there an easy way of rolling the firmware back to the previous version.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
