Using print cartridges in another compatible printer?

Hi Al,

My print head died, I want to use the brand new cartridges I bought, in another printer but someone told me that once installed into a printer that the cartridges are "Paired" to that printer and cannot be installed in another.  It's this true, or can they be used?

My Printer is an HP 6700 Premium All in One.

Yes and No. It depends if the Cartridge lock protection feature is or isn't enabled in your printer.

Thanks for the reply, how would I check if this is the case or not in my printer is there a setting for it in the HP App?

If the printer is dead you will not be able to find out.
