Hi @MSL1951,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue of lines appearing on printed documents from your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010, despite them not being visible on the printer page, could be due to several reasons. Here are some common causes and their solutions.

Printhead Alignment and Cleaning

Over time, printheads can become misaligned or clogged, which can cause lines or streaks to appear on prints.

  • Printhead Alignment: Go to your printer's settings or maintenance menu and look for an option to align the printheads. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
  • Printhead Cleaning: Most printers have a utility to clean the printheads. This can usually be found in the printer maintenance or settings menu. Running a cleaning cycle can clear up any clogs that might be causing the lines.

Low or Defective Ink Cartridges

Low ink levels or defective ink cartridges can also cause print quality issues.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that all ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Replace any cartridges that are low on ink.
  • Replace Defective Cartridges: Sometimes, cartridges can be defective or have issues. If cleaning and alignment don't work, try replacing the ink cartridges.

Paper Quality and Type

The type of paper you're using can affect print quality. Ensure you are using the correct paper type for your printer.

  • Paper Type Setting: Make sure the printer settings match the type of paper you are using (e.g., plain paper, photo paper, etc.). Incorrect settings can lead to poor print quality.
  • Quality of Paper: Use high-quality paper that is recommended for your printer. Low-quality or incompatible paper can cause printing issues.

Software and Driver Issues

Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause various printing issues.

  • Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. Visit the HP support website to download and install any available updates.
  • Reinstall Drivers: If updating doesn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers.

Environmental Factors

Dust and debris can accumulate inside the printer, causing issues.

  • Clean the Printer: Carefully clean the interior of the printer, focusing on the areas where the paper passes through. Be gentle and use a lint-free cloth.

Firmware Updates

Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs and improve the performance of your printer.

  • Update Firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your printer model on the HP support website and update accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
