Glad to know its working now. Although your solution is really specific to your printer. The alignment of the space to only the one corner is an alignment issue of your printer. I have not seen that before with other printers or photo labs. The percentage of canvas you add will also change depending on the resolution/dimension of your files.
I assume you know how to record an Action and make a shortcut key to create that setup for other 4x6s though. If I had a whole bunch of 4x6s to run from one job, I would create a separate folder to put the final cropped 4x6s in. Then use the Image Processor to run the action/actions all at once. Using Droplets can speed that up also.

EDIT: I used this one which was similar to Russel Browns version. I think it still works with the latest PS. Better than the standard version. Will probably show up under either File/Automate or File/Scripts when installed.
