@JoyangKayang, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like the printer settings might need some adjustments to allow printing in color. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue with your HP DeskJet 2855e printer:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Open the document or picture you want to print.
  • Go to the Print dialog box, usually found under File > Print or by pressing Ctrl + P (Cmd + P on a Mac).
  • Look for an option related to color settings in the printer's settings or properties. This could be labeled as "Color," "Preferences," or "Advanced."
  • Ensure that the setting is switched from grayscale or monochrome to color.

Check Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure that your printer driver is up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers and software from the official HP support website.
  • Navigate to https://support.hp.com and search for your printer model to find and install the latest drivers.

Use Right Media Type:

  • Verify that the media type setting matches the paper you are using. For photos, you might want to select "Photo Paper" if you're using it.
  • Check the printer's paper tray to ensure you've loaded the correct type of paper for color printing.

Reset Printing Preferences:

  • Go to the printer settings on your computer (Control Panel > Devices and Printers) and try selecting "Reset to Defaults" in your printer's preferences or properties.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Uninstall the printer from your device and then reinstall it. Often, a fresh setup can resolve any misconfigurations.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Use the printer's software or control panel to check the ink levels, ensuring you have enough color ink.

Print Head Cleaning:

  • In some instances, a printhead cleaning may be necessary if there are still issues. This can be done through the printer's tool options or maintenance section.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
