Microsoft Windows 11

I bought new HP black and color cartridges and installed them, keeping my printer with HP protection enabling option already on, and it showed error that I used protected cartridges in printer and also on HP smart app. So, I am contacting you, because they are genuine I checked them by scanning the QR code, but now they are showing up the error that I am using HP protected cartridges installed and I also tried to disable and also restored factory settings of printer but there was nothing happened, still my printer is showing same error messages and the light of cartridges of both of them on the printer screen kept on blinking. I want you to solve my problem.

Hi @Mohan-_1234

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4729 All-In-One printer light blinking. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove the USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware
