I mistakenly bought a non HP printer cartridge and on inserting the cartridge printer will not come up, says "Validating Please Wait". On inserting the old cartridge back in, still doing the same thing.
What must I do to get this printer working until my HP cartridges come in?

Hi @RonRuss
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the printer is stuck in a validation loop due to the non-HP cartridge. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
Remove the Non-HP Cartridge:
- Carefully remove the non-HP cartridge from the printer.
Reinstall the Original HP Cartridge:
- Make sure to thoroughly clean the contacts on the original HP cartridge and the printhead area in the printer with a lint-free cloth. Then reinstall the HP cartridge securely.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Reset the Printer:
- If the printer is still showing “Validating Please Wait,” you may need to reset the printer settings. This usually involves holding down the power button for a certain period (refer to your printer’s manual for specific instructions).
Please wait until the new cartridges arrive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have installed HP printer cartridge into slot that I mistakenly inserted Non-HP into. I have powered down, unplugged, etc with no effect.
I held the power button for 15 seconds and on starting up stuck in the same screen.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hi @RonRuss.
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your printer cartridges. We always recommend using genuine HP ink cartridges.
I see that you have an issue using non-HP ink cartridges on your printer.
Please refer to the below links for more information related to your issue.

If you are using generic or Non HP ink cartridges and the above links do not help. You will have to contact the generic ink cartridge manufacturer to assist you further with it or you will have to use genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.
