You need to provide more details.

Officejet 3830 All in One Product number: K7V40A Serial number: [personal info removed]
I am enrolled in HP Instant Ink and got my cartridges from them and my account is currently in good standing.
First I was repeatedly being prompted to reinstall the cartridges and now suddenly I am being informed that they are incompatible. I have power cycled the unit and reconnected to my Computer and removed and cleaned and reinstalled the cartridges but the same message occurs.
My printer warranty has expired so if it a problem with the printer I am SOL but so far it seems to only be related to the Ink cartridges.
Supposing the cartridges are faulty and need to be replaced it is not clear by any means whatsoever how to go about requesting replacements under the HP Instant Ink program at all. (serious issues with the website aside)
So can you advise how to proceed? Am I to be convinced to replace my printer and no doubt strongly advised to replace it with another HP Printer naturally...
Any help is appreciated.. but how do I know when or if there is a reply here besides obsessively checking and rechecking?

I had the same problems on the same day you did. I returned my dual packs of black and color HP 61XL ink cartridges to Office Depot and exchanged them but it still did not work. The store warned me that they would not credit me if the HP ink cartridges still failed to operate, so I'm stuck with $100 of useless cartridges and a now useless Envy 4500 printer. I spent 16 hours trying to solve the problem online the day before, but got fed up, and went out and purchased a Canon printer yesterday with individual color cartridges. I'll never get an HP printer again. I hope you have better success than I did. I know how frustrating it is, especially when you have urgent work to attend to.
