What printer is cheap and good for nowadays requirements

A few more details would help. Do you want color or monochrome? Ink or Laser? How much printing do you expect to do? If you are doing large volumes the cheapest printer is unlikely to provide a satisfactory experience for the owner, cost of supplies and the fact that most cheap printers are designed for very low monthly volumes. (think double digit volumes). If you only print very occasionally, a laser is probably a better choice as you will not have the same clogging issues you get with a low usage inkjet printer.

Nowadays requirements could mean anything. Are you a graphic designer? Casual home user? Printing leaflets to advertise your end of the world cult?

The more specific you phrase your question the better the answer you are going to get.
