@GK3360, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer is printing in raw text format instead of properly rendering documents. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

Check Print Settings

  • When printing, go to Print Preferences and ensure the document format is set correctly (e.g., "Print as Image" should be off unless needed).
  • Verify that the correct printer is selected in the print dialog.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

  • Uninstall the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Download the latest driver from the HP Support website and install it.
  • Restart your computer and try printing again.

Try Printing from Another Application

  • Open a document in a different app (e.g., Word, Adobe Acrobat, Notepad) and print.
  • If Notepad prints normally but Word/PDF does not, the issue may be with the specific application.

Disable 'Print to File' Option

  • In the print dialog box, ensure that "Print to File" is not selected.

Set the Printer as Default

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Set as Default Printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)

Test with Another Printer Driver

  • If your printer supports PCL or PostScript, try switching to a different driver version:
    • Go to Devices and Printers
    • Right-click your printer and select Printer Properties
    • Under the Advanced tab, change the driver to a different one available.

Check Windows Update

  • Ensure that no recent updates have caused the issue by rolling back or reinstalling updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
