I have a HP Officejet Pro 6230 Printer that, during the first installation, is asking me setup cartridges. I don’t have any set up cartridges, but, as i read, I think there is a bypass procedure. Can anyone help me please? Thanks a lot for your help. Nice day.

Hi @PeterNik,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
HP printers often come with setup or starter cartridges that are used during the initial printer setup. These cartridges are designed to get you started and may not contain a full supply of ink. When setting up your HP Officejet Pro 6230 printer for the first time, the printer may prompt you to install these setup cartridges. If you don't have the setup cartridges, you can try the following steps to bypass this requirement.
- Please note: This method might not work for all HP printers, and it's essential to follow the instructions accurately. Also, be aware that using non-setup cartridges or refilled cartridges might affect your printer's warranty or its performance.
- Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on and ready.
- Open the Cartridge Access Door: Lift the printer's top cover or cartridge access door. This is where the cartridges are normally installed.
- Wait for the Cartridges to Move: When you open the cartridge access door, the carriage that holds the cartridges will usually move to the center of the printer.
- Remove the Old Cartridges (if present): If there are any old cartridges in the printer, remove them carefully. Take note of their positions.
- Close the Cartridge Access Door: Gently close the cartridge access door or the top cover. Make sure it's securely closed.
- Printer May Display a Warning: The printer might display a message about missing or unrecognizable cartridges. This is normal in this situation.
- Press OK or Continue: Look for a button on the printer's control panel that says "OK," "Continue," or something similar. Press this button to clear the warning and continue with the setup.
- Complete the Setup: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup of your printer. This might include selecting your language, setting up Wi-Fi, and more.
By following these steps, you should be able to bypass the setup cartridge requirement and proceed with the initial setup of your HP Officejet Pro 6230 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
