Officejet 8610 errors that the yellow ink cartridge or others are damaged. I have tried solving this through HP smart however it leads me to a link that gives the download for software updates, but the download fails to be able to download all the files. I have tried the direct download from the internet, but the directions do not match the printers available control panel options.

Your printer 8610 is one of the few printers than can use non-hp ink.
Make sure you have this exact firmware to take advantage of the ink supply.
if you are still having problems then go here.
Check the date and ensure the ink did not expire.
Let me know what happens.

I have very similar issues with my hp office jet 8600 premium. Do you have the firmware for this that can be copied to a usb drive to add to the printer that way? Currently this issue is preventing setup completing from a semi factory reset. so the printer is not connected to my network. I have Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1

I am not privy to the details on how HP does firmware update on printers. From reading here and there, I believe that the executable no longer contains firmware but the app looks at the printer and then goes and gets what it needs. This is different from how the BIOS updates work. You need to be online for the printer update. The URL that listed the non-HP ink printers did not list your 8600, but the firmware it pointed to did list your 8600. You might try that firmware.
