Setup cartridges that came with hp 9015e printer did not seat well, didn't 'click in,' kept popping out.  Finally got them to stay in place long enough to complete setup.  Then changed to new hp962 cartridges, thinking the setup cartridges could be the problem.  Did not help.  They work for a while then the printer gives missing cartridge errors.

@eper, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I see that the ink cartridges are not seated properly in the slots. Make sure you are using HP inks.

Insert one ink cartridge at a time to identify the defective ink cartridge.

 

Check if the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

 

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Ink cartridge error

 

Insert the old/alternate ink cartridge(if available) and check if the error persists. If not, then the new one is defective.

 

If the error persists,
