Hi @Snehankar

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If the Advanced Settings in the HP Smart app are unavailable, preventing you from accessing the head cleaning option, here are some steps to clean the printhead manually:

1. Use HP Printer Software (Alternative Method)

  • Open HP Printer Assistant (search for it in Windows).
  • Click Maintain Your Printer.
  • Select Clean Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions.

2. Access Embedded Web Server (EWS) Manually

  • Find your printer’s IP address:
    • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.
    • Look for the IP address under Wireless or Network settings.
  • Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the address bar.
  • If EWS loads, navigate to Tools > Printhead Cleaning.

3. Perform a Manual Printhead Cleaning

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the ink cartridges carefully.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the printhead contacts.
  • Let it dry for 5 minutes, then reinstall the cartridges.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord for 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect and turn it back on.

5. Reinstall HP Smart App

  • Uninstall HP Smart from Settings > Apps.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Reinstall HP Smart from the Microsoft Store.
