Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022 All-in-One Printer is correctly installed and has a full cyan (blue) cartridge, but still refuses to print blue. Let’s work through this together. You’re doing everything right by checking the cartridge and installation.

Recommended Steps to Fix Cyan (Blue) Not Printing

1. Run Printhead Cleaning

Sometimes the cyan nozzle is clogged even if the cartridge is full.

  • On the printer’s control panel or via the HP Smart app:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead
    • Run the cleaning process 2–3 times if needed

2. Print a Diagnostic Page

This helps identify which color is failing.

  • Go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report
  • Check if cyan is missing or streaked

If cyan is absent, it confirms a printhead issue.

3. Check Ink Cartridge Seating

Even if the cartridge is full, it may not be seated properly.

  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Remove and reinsert the cyan cartridge
  • Make sure it clicks into place firmly.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause ink detection issues.

5. Try a Printhead Alignment

Misalignment can cause color channels to misfire.

  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
