Hi @mellie1018,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you're dealing with an issue like a blinking light on your HP ENVY 6055e All-In-One Printer right after changing the ink cartridges, it typically indicates that there's a problem with the installation or recognition of the new cartridges. Here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:
Ensure Cartridges are Properly Installed:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
- Check that you have removed any protective tape or covering from the nozzle and contacts of the new cartridges.
- Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they click into place and are seated properly.
Check for Compatibility:
- Verify that the ink cartridges are compatible with your HP ENVY 6055e printer. HP printers are designed to work best with specific HP ink formulas. Using non-HP or refilled cartridges can sometimes lead to errors.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Replug the power cord into the wall outlet and the printer. Turn on the printer if it does not automatically do so.
- Sometimes a reset can help clear errors and force the printer to recheck the cartridges.
Clean the Cartridge Contacts:
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the contacts inside the printer cartridge carriage. Avoid touching the nozzles.
- Let the contacts dry for about 10 minutes before reinstalling the cartridges and powering on the printer.
Check the Printer Software:
- Ensure your printer software is up to date. Visit the HP website, find your printer model, and check for software updates. Installing the latest printer firmware might resolve cartridge recognition issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
