Hi @mervyn442,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Congratulations on your new printer😊

To check the current ink levels on your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer, you can use either the printer's control panel, the HP Smart app, or the printer software on your computer. Here’s how to do it:

Method 1: Using the HP Smart App

Download and Open the HP Smart App:

  • If you haven't already installed the HP Smart app, download it from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or Mac App Store.
  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

Add Your Printer:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your device.
  • The HP Smart app should automatically detect your printer. If not, click on Add Printer and follow the instructions to connect.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Once your printer is connected, the main dashboard of the HP Smart app will display the current ink levels for each cartridge.

Method 2: Using the Printer Software (Windows)

Open HP Printer Assistant:

  • Click on the Start menu, then search for HP and select HP DeskJet 2820e series.
  • Open HP Printer Assistant.

Check Ink Levels:

  • In the Printer Assistant window, select Estimated Ink Levels under the Print section to view the current ink levels.

Method 3: Using the Printer Control Panel (If Applicable)

  • Some printers display the ink levels directly on the printer's control panel screen. Look for an ink icon or cartridge status option in the printer's settings menu.

Method 4: Printing a Self-Test Page

  1. Print a Printer Status Report:
    • Press the Cancel button (marked with an "X") and the Information button (marked with an "i") on the printer’s control panel simultaneously.
    • This will print a status report showing the estimated ink levels.

You may also check ink levels from this link.

Additional Tips

  • Regularly Monitor Ink Levels: Keep an eye on ink levels to avoid running out unexpectedly. When levels are low, consider ordering replacement cartridges.
  • HP Instant Ink: If you are enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program, you can monitor your ink levels through your HP Instant Ink account on the HP website.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
