I've printed a couple times and tested out troubleshooting and the ink comes out white/gray instead of black

@Vanessa0918, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with print quality issues, especially when you need clear, dark prints. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this problem:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that your ink cartridges are full. Even new cartridges can sometimes be faulty.

Clean the Print Heads: Over time, print heads can become clogged. You can usually find a cleaning option in your printer's maintenance menu.

Perform a Nozzle Check: This will help identify if any nozzles are clogged. If they are, running a cleaning cycle can help clear them.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges: Non-HP cartridges can sometimes cause print quality issues. If you're using third-party ink, consider switching to genuine HP cartridges.

Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your printer settings are configured for the best print quality. Sometimes, the settings might be set to draft or low quality.

Reset the Printer: Unplug the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve software glitches.

Clean Cartridge Contacts: Remove the ink cartridges and gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
