Product: HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer uses printer cartridges numbered 950 for black and 951 for color cartridges. I now see cartridge number 952. Can my printer use cartridge  952?

The correct cartridges for the Officejet Pro 8625 are the 950 and 951.  The HP 952 cartridges will not work in your printer, they are made for the Officejet Pro 7700 and 8700 series as well as a few others.
