My printers color printing has been off and appears to be more orange. Today I tried printing in black and white, it would not print. It asks to remove a paper jam, there is no jam visible, and then load paper which is done, but it won't align or print a test page. I have done all of the trouble shooting tips with the virtual assistant and am now unable to reload ink cartridges as the carriage won't move.

Hi @Steph8255
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 0x6100004a error code is typically related to a printer carriage jam or a mechanical issue with the printer's movement components, such as the printhead or ink carriage. It can also sometimes be caused by issues with paper jams, even if none are visible. Here's how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 1-2 minutes.
- While unplugged, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the issue persists.
2. Check for Paper Jams Again
- Even though you mentioned there’s no visible jam, the printer could still have a minor jam that’s affecting the mechanism. Ensure you check every possible area where paper could get stuck, including:
- Paper input tray
- Output tray
- Rear access door (if available)
- Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), if applicable.
- Carefully remove any visible paper debris or small fragments.
- After clearing any potential jams, reset the printer and try again.
3. Check the Ink Carriage
- Open the printer’s front panel where the ink cartridges are located.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
