Hi @massengill,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a few issues. Here’s how to address your printer being offline and your ink situation:

Fixing Printer Offline Status

Check Connections:

  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your laptop.

Set Printer as Default:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners on your laptop and make sure your printer is set as the default printer.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and laptop to reset any temporary connectivity issues.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP website to check for the latest drivers for your printer model and install them.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and there are no error messages on the printer's display.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
