@sleepycedars, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 4522 prints perfectly from your laptop but prints blank pages from your wife’s laptop, even though it communicates correctly, the issue is likely software-related on her system.
Please try these steps,
Check Ink Levels and Cartridges
- Even though it prints from your laptop, make sure the ink cartridges are not empty or clogged.
- Print a Test Page or Print Quality Diagnostic Report from the printer’s control panel.
Reinstall the Printer Driver on Her Laptop
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, remove the HP printer.
- Visit HP ENVY 4522 Drivers page and download the full-feature software and drivers for Windows 10 (64-bit).
- Install it freshly — avoid just relying on Windows’ default driver.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Let it automatically diagnose and fix any issues related to driver, queue, or communication.
Try Printing from Another App
- If printing from a browser or a PDF, try printing from Notepad or Word.
- This helps isolate if the issue is app-specific.
Check Print Settings
On her laptop, go to Print Preferences and make sure:
- Paper size is correct (A4 vs Letter).
- Print in Grayscale is disabled (if she’s trying to print in color).
- Selected paper tray and quality settings are appropriate.
Disable Print Spooler Advanced Features
- Type services.msc, find Print Spooler, and restart it.
- In the printer properties > Advanced tab, uncheck “Enable advanced printing features” and try again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
