The error message "Cannot print. Go to hpinstantink.com" typically appears on HP printers enrolled in the HP Instant Ink or HP+ program when there's an issue with your subscription, internet connection, or printer settings. Here are the most common causes and how to fix them:

Check Internet Connection

  • HP Instant Ink requires your printer to be connected to the internet.
  • Make sure your printer is connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet and has access to the internet.

Restart Web Services

  • On your printer's control panel:
    • Go to Settings > Web Services > Remove Web Services.
    • Then re-enable Web Services by accepting the terms and allowing updates.

Check HP Instant Ink Account

  • Visit hpinstantink.com and log in.
  • Ensure:
    • Your subscription is active.
    • Your payment method is up to date.
    • Your printer is listed and shows as online.

Reinsert Ink Cartridges

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure proper contact.

Update Printer Firmware

  • From the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer > Check Now.
