How can I unlock the printer update options feature which has apparently been set to auto by someone, perhaps the manufacturer ?

Please help if you can, I will sincerely appreciate that.

Contact HP Customer Support, need to have details of your printer eg. Model, Serial No. to verify your ID.

Alternatively go to control panel on printer, go to Settings, then Set Up, then Set Up Web Services  then  select  NO.

By removing web services you're technically turning off Auto Updates in Printer. Solved my own problem.
