I have an 8 year old OfficeJet 6600 printer. I had a "One or more cartridges appear to be damaged. Remove them and replace them with new cartridges" It was the Y cartridge, which I replaced with an HP cartridge and the error still occurs, even after going through HP virtual agent help and updating the printer and powering it down.
The previous Y cartridge was an OfficeMax cartridge and the printer is of course, out of warranty.
Any fixes for this? Thanks!

@KyleSam, Welcome to HP Support Community!
If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
Since the device is out of warranty, and we've concluded that this is a hardware malfunction, I may have a few pointers/suggestions to help you out, however, since these suggestions are limited to you and your printer alone, I'd like to send out a private message with those details.
