Bought a stockpile of Genuine HP ink 952XL B, C, M, Y at Costco
I don't print much at home so the ink has just been stored.
Now I replaced the Yellow and got the infamous "older generation" error.
I spent couple hundred dollars on the stockpile. Now I'm face with wasting that money and spending it again, just so I can print. Not to metion the downtime.
I'd like to be able to exchange these old Genuine HP cartridges for new ones since the problem is not my fault.
Please let me know how to proceed.

HP changed the design of the cartridges used in your printer and updated the firmware to reject the old generation cartridges. See the document here for information.
In my opinion, HP should replace any genuine HP cartridges that are the Old Generation Cartridge error. I will ask to have your case escalated. I would expect an HP Support agent would respond in this thread and then move the discussion to Private Messaging.
Please post back here if your issue is resolved or if you need more assistance.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Many Thanks.
I can see HP wanting to protect itself against non-genuine cartridges. But to take a completley self-serving action like this and do it at the significant cost of all those customers who have been "genuine" the whole time, is cold and disrespectful,
Instead they could have create a "win" for everyone by proactively offering to exchange all the old genuine cartridges for new genuine cartridges. Shame on whoever signed off on this action, taken in this way.
