Hi @pak55060,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Turning off cartridge protection on HP printers usually involves accessing the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) or using the printer's control panel. Since you mentioned that you've already tried accessing the EWS through the IP address and couldn't find the setting, here are some additional steps you can try.
Printer Control Panel:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Settings" or "Tools" menu.
- Look for an option related to cartridge or ink settings.
- Check if there's an option to disable cartridge protection.
HP Smart App:
- If you have the HP Smart App installed on your computer or mobile device, check if there's an option to manage printer settings.
- Look for cartridge protection or similar settings within the app.
Printer Software on Computer:
- Open the HP printer software installed on your computer.
- Navigate to the printer settings or tools section.
- Look for an option to disable cartridge protection.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the official HP support website.
- Updating the firmware may sometimes introduce new settings or options.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
