Latest full complete software installed from HP web site for the new 6970. I had the print preview feature on a old HP Photo Smart printer and need this on the new printer please advise how this can be acheived

I believe that in years past (days of XP?) print preview was a perhaps function of the printer software.
The Full Feature Software provides the means to set / adjust the parameters for the print (Media, Source, Page Size, etc).
Print Preview is a function of the software used to submit the job to the printer.
Examples for those reading (some examples mention newer Windows versions):
- Most web browsers (for example, Edge, Firefox, and Chrome) provide some form of Print Preview that shows the content to be printed.
- Editors (for example, Office Word) provide a preview of the document (File > Print).
- Adobe Reader DC provides a tiny preview of the document in the lower right corner of the print menu (Open document > click print icon > Adjust settings and print)
- HP Photo Creations (photo / image project software) provides a nice preview of what will be printed.
- HP Smart (Windows 10) provides a very nice Print Preview of the image / document to be printed.
- Scanning software generally provides a print preview window.
During the print job setup, the print dialog (printer software) is accessed via the software used to submit the job to the printer. The print dialog might be called Printer Properties, Preferences, or similar (wording varies).
For example, Office Word

Download, save, and install to use. Exceptional free HP scan program: HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary). May include OCR (Save as Editable Text).
NOTES
- HPSE is an older subset of the printer software; features are very similar to scan software included in 2015 or newer Full Feature Software packages.
- If you have the newer version of the scan software inside your Full Feature Software, use that: Printer Assistant shortcut icon on Desktop (named for printer) > Scan a document or image (wording varies).
- Although the HPSE program works as a separate program, HPSE is dependent on the infrastructure provided by the printer software. The Full Feature Software for your printer should be installed before installing HPSE.
- OPTIONAL: Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
- Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin
- Right-Clickexe > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start
Link and Download NAPS2
NOTES
- Not another PDF Scanner – free program scans PDF files and image(s) as .jpeg or PDF file(s).
- Includes an OCR feature – may need Ghostscript add-on (See NAPS2 forum entry)
- Read the Support pages for information
- Download, save, and install the NAPS2 software to use.

I would guess that if the printer software for your current printer is similar to the software for which the agent provided the information, the solution you found is relevant.
My opinion based on observation (and it could be incorrect)
My earlier statement was at least partially incorrect: The software for older printers may have included the "preview" feature regardless of the Operating System version (for example, the feature appears to have persisted after XP was the popular choice of OS).
The answer hinges on what the software for the particular printer can do - if the feature is not in the Full Feature Software print dialog, the feature is not available in that software / on that printer / in that Operating System (version).
This would simply mean that just because one printer / printer software provides a feature does not mean that feature is provided elsewhere.

Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)
Do not agree with the Answer? What to do?
Please start a new thread with your question. Include the information you have posted.
Perhaps another Expert / Agent will provide a different answer than the one provided here.
I will watch for - and not answer - your new thread / inquiry on the subject.
