DESKJET 3636
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Here we are, I'm again here complaining for drivers installation, this time with Win10 and a new printer, but same issue as in past. It seems HP engineer have the bad and strange habit to pursue a way to write drivers which conflict with late Windows version, and I think it's a problem of permissions.. but really hard to solve!

As result I'm loosing so much time to solve the problem, and considering installing a printer it's a matter of 5 minutes I'm really pis**d off!

Please read this carefully: the printer is working, it can print wusing ePrint service, and it can print from laptop if I print from notepad! Only with notepad! Please avoid questions like "does the printer has IP address?"

The printer is connected to Wi Fi, I installed the drivers, base and full, nothing changed:  it can print a simple txt file, but it can't print any "graphic", Word, images, even Windows print test page button returns an error.

When I start HP doctor software it notices and "solved" one problem (the first voice of the list), and then, if I press into this application the print test button, the printer prints it!! But after it keeps not working with PC.

I can't change the TCP port (errors), I can't change permissions (system is owner, and I can't change it too), for some users printing is disabled!!

Of course I deleted drivers, reinstalled, rebooted PC, don't ask silly questions. Also updated firmware of printer, nothing changed.

Why is so complicated fo HP to make a "normal" driver, easy to install and (most important of all) working? I'm loosing time only here, too bad!

What can I do?? Please answer here in short time! The other time I lost 4 weeks and after you changed the printer, and the problem appears also in new one!! I needed to spend money calling a high level specialist that after 3 hours and different call solved the problem. In my opinion is about ho windows manage permissions and allow some services! This is huge relevant for you to understand this problem!!

Thanks for the reply but it wasn't useful, too easy solution and drivers have issues while installing on system.

I changed some parameters on settings of printer, the most important I guest was the "sharing printer", after that I may had chance to access/edit come voices like the port.

In port I selected HP protocol instead of microsoft

in advanced parameters I selected autosetting

I've double voice selection on that printer, but doesn't matter it works!!

Hi,

I'm experienced the same isusue with my 3636 printer.

I've reinstalled many times drivers and even the OS to solve the problem but nothing happened.

@Giovanni: please, could you provide more detailed information about the solution you've found?

Thanks

Hi! First and most important, assure that the temp folder you have configured in windows has rights for everyone user, full control. Check and report

Thank you Giovanni!

I moved Temp folder to another disk/path and changed the permission to Everyone/Full Control.

Until now everything seems to work well!

I am very very disappointed with this printer and the software.....
