C410 all-in-one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printer was working OK as wireless connected device.

Had to change by BT Broadband router (simple job) on PC and phones simply connected to new AP and job done.

ON the printer went into printer menu > network settings >used the secure setup ... pressed button on router and printer advises connection fine and show max signal strength.

Try to print and it shows disconnected ...

Used HP solution center - shows disconnected

Used HP print & scan doctor ... it finds printer straight way ... but fails to connect advises it has software missing.

I click to install missing software - it loads a panel (looks like original CD install) but doies not proceeed with anything so unsure what to do, there is no repair button.,

I select USB-wireless, option thinking that may get it working again ... plug in a USB cable first - after about 10 mins of it getting as far as step 6/8     it then advises unable to connect.

This should have been really simple - printer connects to new WiFi and that should be it.

Anybody any suggestions - or is this yet another removal all, and reinstall.

After hours of fun trying to get it to work, including page after page of help

Followed by HP centre diagnostics  and the standalone HP print & scan doctor – even removed all printers from PC … no good.

HP software was seeing printer, but kept telling me it could not communicate !

All I did was change WiFi Router ... on other WiFi devices, just selected new AP and they worked .... HP seem to make life very difficult on WiFi.

Hey @Argonaut,

I see that you are having some issues with connecting your Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. On your printer click on the Setup icon that looks like a wrench.
  2. Click on Network.
  3. Click on Advanced Setup.
  4. Click on Wireless Setup Wizard.

At this point you should be connected to your wireless network. Now:

  1. Remove the USB cable from the PC.
  2. On your PC in your search bar type in Printers and open Devices and Printers.
  3. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  4. Click on Remove Device.
  5. Repeat for any other icon of your printer listed.
  6. Click on Add Printer and follow the prompts to add a print queue for your PC.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to resolve your issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

If that does not resolve your issue, the next step would be to contact whoever provided you with the router and ask them to check the following:

  • Open All Ports.
  • Enable Multicasting.
  • Disable MAC Filtering/MAC Cloning.
  • Disable the Guest network.
  • Make sure the network has a 2.4GHz (Giga-Hertz) band.

Please let me know the results after having the following checked.
