I just bought this printer today and I'm trying to login to the configuration page with the default user (admin) and password (blank) and it says incorrect ID or password. Tried various combinations of admin and aministrator, both at user and at password. I can't seem to get support from HP. Can someone help me?

I finally found the sollution, thanks to this guy over here and no thanks to HP (excluding Jay who tried to help me). I don't understand how you can name yourself a big printer company but have this kind of issues. I wasted two days to search for a solution... Anyway, in case this "big" company will not allow me to post links from other sites (even though on their site I couldn't find anything), here is the solution: the default password is not blank as said in the manual, it's the WPS code. So, here are the instructions:
Click Menu (...) button on the printer
Select (4. Network) using the arrow keys, then press OK
Select (Wi-Fi), then press OK
Select (WPS), then click OK
Select (PIN), then press OK
The screen will show an 8 digit code: xxxx-xxxx
Within 2 minutes, go to the Embedded Web Server page on your computer In the top right, click login
Enter the ID as admin (All Lowercase)
Enter the password as the 8 digits of the PIN Code, without the dash

Hi @PaulAidimireanu,
I'd like to help with the printer!
We might have to perform a reset on the printer to change the username or password.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
And, Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
