HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3835
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried hor hours to solve this problem, but I cannot find the solution. Problem I cannot print from any applicatiion to my printer (neither via USB nor via Wireless).

I try to run HP Print and Scan Doctor but it runs for 1 or 2 seconds showing a blank screen and then stops running

I have removed the printers in Printers and scanners and reinstalled the printers using HP Smart.

Printers are visible in Printers and Scanners.

Printer queues and Printers are present in Device Manager

When I use printer properties and try to change the default paper size which is letter to A4 I get a message from rundll32 saying protection fault  0x00000505

Did SFC /scannow. First time problems found and fixed. second time no probems found.

Problem occurs (I think) after I updated to Windows 11 and then went back to Windows 10.

I just tried to print from my smartphone and got message that printer is not available

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

SOLVED

Having also a few other problems I understood there were problems with my windows installation. sfc \scannow did not solve the problem so I did a reset of my PC. Takes around 16 hours to reinstall everything but it seemed the only solution. Now my printers work correctly and print and scan doctor also work perfectly
