HP Desk Jet 1510
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Cannot successfully install HP Desk Jet 1510 on MacBook Air 2021 with Big Sur.  I have used the Easy start software wizard.  Installed, uninstalled numerous times following all the steps.  Nothing is working.  Please assist.  Please DONT tell me to uninstall and reinstall using the wizard without some other step.  I have now done this 5 times.

What happens when you try printing? What exact behavior or error message occurs?

Hi,

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

 

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

 

If the same persists following completing the steps, I suggest trying a different USB cable, be sure it os directly connected to the Mac and a standard cable of no longer than 2 meters long.

I took my MB Air and the printer to the I-store technicians.  We tested the printer on a MB not using Big Sur and it worked fine.  We tested it with a different MB with Big Sur and it has the same problem as I have.  Therefore it is not a problem with the printer but with the Printer Drivers.  Can you please advise if there is specific drivers for the HP Ink Jet Ink Advantage 1515 as the drivers available for this specific model are not for Big Sur.  I can get 1510 for Big Sur - which we have tried - they do not work.

Did you follow the steps listed in my previous post? These are meant to reinstall the printer drivers correctly…

Ok I figured out how to complete everything that you said including the Skip to downloads steps.  Same problem remains.  I can scan but I cannot print.  exact same problem as before.
