Use my HP combo for work everyday including the scanning operation with HP Solution center software. My 5610 printer has been a workhorse and I am very pleased with it. I have 2 of them. Recently the HP Solution center has become inoperative and I have spent many hours trying to recover it with no success. I scan my work in everyday and need my combo to work or to get an alternative. Have tried downloading software referenced here but have not been able to get Solution Center or an upgrade replacement software package to work with my hardware. This shouldnt be so hard. Please help.
Thanks Keith

HP Scan Extended is a "sub-set" an older version of the Full Feature Software (still newer than Solution Center by a bit).
If your Solution Center software is installed - and you don't have to be able to actually "open" it - HPSE usually does install.
If you can get it to work, you will like it - HPSE is "HP Scan" with a couple of nice features built into the code.
What to do? Try a different browser - some browsers dislike the "msi" suffix (file type).
You can also try Restarting the computer - sounds a bit lame, but it might help.
If you did not do so, also try the direct call to the HP Scan executable.
Good Luck.

If you have been searching through the Community, you know by now that Solution Center wrapper that opens the printer software failed when Flash was disabled in January 2021.
There are the alternatives mentioned in the many threads on the subject.
There are threads that suggest unsupported (but apparently working) methods to force Flash to work.
There are posts that express gratitude that older printer can still be used.
There are posts the express outrage and a general sense of betrayal.
Sample thread that provides many of the supported methods to scan using your older printer and the Solution Center software:

Got Hp Scan and Capture to work thank you for the link. HP Scan Extended would not load. Am no computer geek(no disrespect intended) so was happy to get this week's work scanned and sent. Will see if I can use this software to same extent as previous .. which I liked better so far.

Thanks .. have several older computers, 6 core2, 3 Pentium4 and1 Pentium Dual Core and an M .. desktops and laps. Possibly I can get HP Scan and Capture to work on them for my basic needs if I need them. Will try HPSE after learning Scan+ Cap a little better.Trying to setup to have similar computer setups upstairs, downstairs and garage with a personal and work lap havent managed to get there yet. Wish there was a Pasewark+Pasewark Office Course Text that covered cloud storage but think they ended those before it started .. I have Office 2007 that doesnt mention. Was hoping to someday complete that text but it keeps changing before I get to it 🙂
