LaserJet4200 or similar
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I need to know if anyone knows or has a 64 bit Mac OS Catalina driver for a LaserJet 4200 or similar.     Yes I know it is an old printer.   But I work in a factory with hundreds of these printers and there is NO WAY they are going to replace them...  I will have to downgrade my computer...   Which I would like to not have to do...

Hi,

Download and install below package on the Mac:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1888?locale=en_US

Once completing the installation, connect the printer to the Mac or to the same network, open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and press the Plus sign.

Select your printer, ensure the HP laserjet 4200 option is selected within the Use drop-down menu, and press Add.

Hello~

I tried what you suggested and it did not work. Frustratingly enough, I have been using the computer for over a week and it worked FINE, that whole time. LAST NIGHT, I got an error message, "Filter failure." I have never seen that before. Tried resetting the printer system and nothing appears to work. I read online, today, that Apple killed support for serial/parallel to usb printers. That is how mine has been hooked up for many years. I am wondering if there is a CUPS driver that might work.

Thanks.

James
