According to the HP LaserJet Pro - Use a PIN to access the HP Embedded Web Server printer settings post in the HP Customer Support - Knowledge Base "The default PIN can only be changed by an administrator". How does someone do that? I can't find a relevant option section in the EWS menus.
Changing the admin password has no effect and when accessing the EWS i still get prompt for the PIN rather the admin/password pair.
If changing the PIN is not possible. is it possible at least to change the login method; so that the EWS asks for the chosen/set admin/password credentials instead of the product PIN?
Allowing EWS access with the PIN (that anyone can find by printing an information page) is a security issue.

Problem solved!
After conducting HP+ Service Support and having an expert remotely connected to my PC; the following steps were followed to change/set the admin password; so that the EWS asks properly the admin password in the login modal rather than the printers PIN:
1. Login in printers EWS with the product PIN
2. Change / set the admin password in menu Settings > Security and save
3. If the printer insists asking the product PIN to login in EWS; repeat the previous step in a browser you never used previously to login in EWS or clear the current browsers cookies for the EWS page / session.
The problem is clearly the EWS working with browsers.
During the process; after continuous relogins in the EWS; the EWS menu would show 3x "HOME" menu entries and all the menu pages would show blank. A page refresh was necessary to clear the EWS misbehavior.
Sometimes; after a successful login; the EWS "Settings" menu page was blank and would not load properly unless spamming other EWS menu options and forcing the EWS to load properly.
Conclusion: 1. Have patience; 2. Try stupid things; 3. Next time buy decent products
