Hi @spamb,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To set HP Smart as your default printing app on macOS Sonoma 14.6, you can follow these steps.
Open HP Smart:
- Launch the HP Smart app from your Applications folder or Dock.
Set HP Smart as Default:
- Unfortunately, macOS does not natively support setting a specific application as the default for printing directly. Instead, you can use HP Smart as your primary method for printing by opening it each time you need to print.
Use HP Smart for Printing:
- When you want to print, open HP Smart, select the document or image you want to print, and proceed with the print job through the HP Smart interface. This way, you ensure that you are using HP Smart for your print tasks.
Adjust Print Settings:
- If you need to adjust print settings or preferences, you can do so within HP Smart to customize your print jobs according to your needs.
Printer Preferences:
- You can access additional printer preferences by going to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, selecting your HP ENVY 6055, and clicking Options & Supplies. Here, you can configure default settings for your printer, but not necessarily change the default printing application.
By using HP Smart for your printing needs and configuring settings within the app, you can effectively manage your print tasks even if you can't change the default app at the system level.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
