HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter - N811a/N811d
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have a MacBook Pro laptop with Big Sur 11.7.2 OS.  I've downloaded the driver from the HP website for my OfficeJet Pro 8100, but when I click to open the .zip file, I get the message that Apple OS cannot open the file because it cannot verify if the file is malicious and to contact HP.  I cannot find a solution anywhere online.

Thanks in advance,

Tracy

Hi @portert0224

1. Please download and install  HP Printer drivers for MacOS from the next link:

https://updates.cdn-apple.com/2021/macos/071-46903-20211101-0BD2764A-901C-41BA-9573-C17B8FDC4D90/Hew...

2. Then go to Preferences > Printers then Add the printer

* Click on YES button  to say thanks,

* Click on the button Accepted Solution if the question is answered.

Best regards,

ferRX.

Thanks. The printer driver package installs properly, but when I go to system preferences/printer/add printer "+", nothing appears and when I do a search for HP or Officejet Pro 8100, nothing comes up in the search box.  Also, I cannot find where the print drivers were saved on my hard drive.

Update:  So my problem ended up being a 2-part solution.  First, I needed your driver zip file that you provided me, (which I still could not add the printer via Systems/Prnter/Add) and the second part of the solution was to download the updated HP Smart App which allowed me to find my printer and add it. Thanks for your helpt.
