Deskjet 2620
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Dear All,

I have following problems with my Deskjet 2620:

1) The printer is correctly connected to the router via Wifi (blue LED on and 5 bars show), but I can not access it from any of my laptops. The status in HP Smart say "printer offline", and on my Macbook the status say "idle", but when I try to print the message "the printer is not accessible appears. I deleted the printer, reset the printer, reinstalled the printer ... nothing helped

2) the orange Info LED is on. Does anybody have an idea how to turn that off?

Thanks!

@Wimair, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand you are not able to print wirelessly from the Mac. Let us try these steps:

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.

Check for any software updates on Mac

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Perform a ping test to check the connectivity

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
  3. Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
  4. Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
  5. Note: There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

Have you tried printing using AirPrint driver and check if that helps?

Press the info button and check what happens. It may print an info page. for more info on lights and errors, refer to - Blinking lights

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi KUMAR0307,

Thanks for your help! I have the newest software installed already(printer driver and Mac). Unfortunately I have a BT Smart Hub 2, an d on this router it is not possible to assign a separate name to the 2.4 and 5GHz network, so I deactivated the 5GHz network, and guess what, it worked! Thanks a lot!

Regarding the info LED: I pressed it a couple of times, and it always prints the printer info page ... is there any way I can delete that?

Thanks and

Best regards
