Hi @alim2320,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're using an HP DeskJet 2320 All-in-One Printer with a MacBook Pro running macOS 10.15.5 Catalina, and while the driver is installed, the printer only blinks and doesn’t print. Sorry to hear about the issue. Please try the steps shared and let me know if this helps.

1. Reset Printing System on Mac

Sometimes the print system cache gets corrupted.

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose "Reset printing system…".
  3. Confirm, then re-add the printer using the “+” button.

🔍 Important: When adding, don’t use “AirPrint” — select HP DeskJet 2320 Series if listed.

2. Reinstall HP Easy Start & Correct Driver

HP recommends using HP Easy Start for the correct installation:

  1. Download HP Easy Start from:
🔗 HP DeskJet 2320 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
  2. Choose your printer model and macOS 10.15 Catalina.
  3. During install:
    • Use a USB connection only (not Wi-Fi for this model).
    • When prompted for driver, choose HP’s full driver, not generic AirPrint.

3. Check the USB Cable and the Port

  • Make sure you’re using a USB 2.0/3.0 compliant cable.
  • Try a different USB port on your Mac (or use a powered USB hub if using a USB-C adapter).
  • Avoid third-party USB hubs or very old adapters — they can block data.

4. Try Printing a Test Page

After reinstall:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > HP DeskJet 2320.
  • Click "Options & Supplies" > Utility > Open Printer Utility.
  • Try printing a test page directly from here.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
