Deskjet 3634 automatically prints out test page on startup

I need to cancel the automatic test print.  My color cartridge is out of ink and I just loaded a new black cartridge.  I only want to print black ink, but it keeps printing a test page in color.  All I am doing is wasting paper and paying exorbitant amounts to HP for cartridges that don't allow me to print my documents, but only their stupid test pages.  PLEASE Help me find a solution to this.   At the price HP charges for cartridges, it will soon be cheaper just to buy a new printer every time I need to replace cartridges.

1) May I have the exact model name of the printer? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc. 

2) What's the operating system installed on the computer?
