DeskJet Plus 4155
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My DeskJet 4155 came with empty wrappers for the two setup cartridges and standard ink cartridges installed.  The printer worked for a while then stopped working, and I went thru a new setup.  When I get to a certain point, it wants me to put the setup cartridges in and I can't get past that point.  Question 1: How can I get the printer working again?  Question 2: Why did it work out of the box?

@mfeierberg, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

We will have to perform a reset on the printer to bypass the use of setup ink cartridges. These inks are required to initiate the printer. I'm not sure how it worked in the beginning.

 

I have sent you a private message with a set of instructions to perform a reset. Kindly check the same, this might help you to resolve this issue. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
