Suddenly driver not available propably caused some windows 10 automatic update. Cannot find driver from HP support.

To find a driver for your HP Color LaserJet 5550n, you can try the following steps:

1. Use HP's Official Support Page

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Color LaserJet 5550n) in the search bar.
  • Navigate to the "Drivers & Software" section and check for available drivers for Windows 10.

2. Use Windows Update

Sometimes, Windows can automatically find a compatible driver:

  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  2. Click on Check for updates to see if Windows can find a driver for your printer.

3. Use the HP Universal Print Driver

You can try installing the HP Universal Print Driver, which is compatible with many HP printers:

  1. Download the HP Universal Print Driver from the HP website.

4. Install via Device Manager

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Find your printer under "Printers" or "Other devices."
  3. Right-click and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

5. Try Compatibility Mode

If you find an older driver:

  1. Download it and right-click on the setup file.
  2. Select Properties > Compatibility and check Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8.

Answer was helpfull and I got the printer work what's great. However referring to item 1 I tried that earlier and was suprised that HP did'nt recognise printer despite given product number and serial number. After trying windows update the printer suddenly was alive.
